Lapstock:
who & what we are!
Lapstock is an all year programme
of events and workshops held in Lapford village Devon. Organised by
the local community, Lapstock is focused upon local skills and
talents. Our goal is to develop these and provide a series of
'family' events attracting local audiences, supporting local
producers, traders and performers.
Lapstock has grown from within the community. Our strategy
identifies and seeks to respond to a range of needs. We take a whole
village approach that reaches out to all. We have learnt that music
brings people together.
In the next year we shall be developing new events and workshops for
people to share their talents and learn. We seek to develop new
audiences and nurture new talent. As objectives these are of public
interest and we shall support through fund raising.
Our year long programme involves 100 local volunteers, 14 community
groups, over 120 performers and musicians. We shall attract
audiences to a maximum 2,000 people and will retain our identity by
staying small. Affordable eclectic music has the power to bring
generations and people of different backgrounds together.
